In early 2018, a small group of Peninsula locals began discussing the need for a committee that inquires into and responds to issues of public interest and civic importance across of the community.

While acknowledging the good work of the large number of community groups and associations across the Peninsula, who seek improvements specific to their area, it was felt there was the need to establish a broader organisation and a collective voice.

A committee was officially formed at its inaugural meeting in November 2018 and was named Committee for Peninsula Inc. (CfP)

The Committee for Peninsula is representative of those who live, work and visit the Mornington Peninsula. CfP committee members, who are permanent residents Peninsula wide, are well qualified and experienced in local community and government affairs.

CfP is a not for profit and independent association incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012.
